How many kids getting ready to set off to university are introduced to discounted health insurance for students? The answer to that would be most as it’s part of the induction process to life at Uni. What a lot of freshmen and their parents might not be aware of is that they may well still be covered on the family health care plan (if there is one) whilst they are still in education.
So many of today’s youth think that they don’t need health insurance! The reality of that is this; if you’re a fitness fanatic you can still get sick or involved in an accident. If you’re into body building you can still get sick or involved in an accident. And if you are one of the fittest people you know, and always have been, you can still get sick or involved in an accident. Medicine and medical care costs, and costs dearly, and to think you can do without cover is naive and plain stupid and stupid is not something you want to be as a student!
SUMMARY: So you may be insured on a family health policy during your years in higher education, so check that first. Secondly, if you’re not on the family health care plan, you need to know that you’re not infallible and you will need health insurance.
